I'm looking to get any information or experiences from guys who have shipped finished taxidermy internationally. I have a finished Red stag shoulder mount and want to get it from Austria to Idaho. I specify finished because, from what little I know, it changes how the shipment is inspected through customs. The information online is all over the freaking place, and it's becoming more and more apparent that's the reason shipping brokers can charge so damn much. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I would stay away from two Chicago-based import brokers: D&L and Trophy Shippers. A really good broker I recommend is Hunter International in Pleasanton, CA.

If you don't use a broker you will have to clear your own trophy upon arrival at a port of entry. If you can't, a broker is your only option to avoid the possibility it will be confiscated and/or destroyed.
