Can you rent a car and is there any deer near the road system?

You can rent cars from the airport. I believe they are called chinook auto rentals.

The deer hunting in/around Cordova is done almost entirely on Hinchinbrook and Hawkins islands to the west of town. A lot of guys will charter a float plane to take them to a more remote island with less pressure.

Yes at the airport like was stated before also you can take the ferry with your own vehicle or rental from ANC. Not many deer around Cordova proper but there are some in the vicinity with some help from a boat or plane. Good luck and bring good rain gear!!

Thank you. I have the Yukon and the HH impertect. I'll have 2 or 3 days so not enough time fly , I guess I look in to fishing?

What dates are you scheduled to be in Cordova?

I start a goat hunt on Sept. 22 to 28 then fly out of cordova Oct. 1. Just looking for something to do after that hunt to get the most out of my trip to Alaska.

You will be towards the down slide if the run but I'm sure you can still find a few silver salmon around. Cordova is known for awesome silver fishing. There are quite a few road accessible streams that hold good fish.
