Is Kifaru moving manufacturing overseas?

They need to stay competitive in textiles, and some stuff can’t be sourced here (yet) or it would be unreasonably expensive. I think they will continue to keep what they can here, but most people will make that compromise to have gear made with the best materials available

That doesn’t bother me at all, and I assume if domestic materials become available, they will absolutely use them.

Scheels is the biggest rumor mill in the US. Every time my dad goes into his local scheels they get him all sorts of wound up and stressed out about something. It must be how they drive sales, panic.

Hopefully Kifaru isn't moving their packs overseas. It would be a big fail on their part given the current politics in the US.

I just go to Scheels to cash in my free gift cards, earned from using my Scheels credit card, on great merchandise. I certainly don’t ask for advice or rumors. As for Kifaru, Patrick Smith has been gone awhile.

Wow, someone comes in and asks a question about something he heard and is trying to get some kind of clarification. The he gets shat upon for doing so. I guess he could have decided to run with it and spread it all over the web. It's amazing that when people inquire about something others feel that they have to go negative from the get go. Overall it's a shame that more and more companies are turning to overseas production. Yes, it does reduce or keep costs down, but at the same time it's a shame that comparably made US products cant compete cost wise.

Okay I called and was told that frames and most packs are still being manufactured in America with American made material. Some material is not manufactured in America and is sourced from overseas. Hats, shirts and some buckles are done completely overseas. Definitely not as concerning as I first thought but I was told frames and packs were being manufactured overseas by the scheels sales rep.
Someone threw out the numbers but it was along the lines of "100% american made t-shirt with American materials would be like $60" just for a cheap ol t-shirt... thats a hard sell if you wanna sell many T-shirts.

I'm not even worried about it, I got the answer and so did every one else. I'll go back to scheels and be a dick to salesman for getting dragged on rokslide....

I was a "read only" guy for 5 years on here, ask a legit question about something I have zero clue about, got hammered on here and on the podcast..
It’s still the internet, there will be some of that by default. I figure if I get offended on the internet, I should probably not internet.

I should start an app that helps people make their skin thicker by interacting on a forum/social site of their choice. I think a lot of people are looking to get offended, but there may be a market for those who aren’t trying to get offended, but often do.

I just need some eager investors (that aren’t easily offended)

Oh if someone gets offended by it; boy I can't wait 'till they discover FB. LOL I was just agreeing with IdahoBeav that some people do come here and ask legit questions that are NOT trying to stir the pot or seek attention like a 12 year old schoolgirl.

I do like the app idea... we can combine military, oilfield and my dads "skin thickening" process. Then for the final test they have to come on here and make a bunch of Anti- hunting threads, and present the premise that they can shoot a 338 Terminator un-breaked as well as others shoot the RSS.
