Same exact combo last year and this year has put down a total of 9 animals. With only 3 being one shot kills. I’d like to blame my own shooting prowess and previous aiming standards where I was shooting for high shoulder drops. I am currently changing my aiming point.
Large mule deer buck. 220 first shot directly in spine. 2nd shot dead through heart. Buck fell over and then was put down about 5 minutes later when I got over to him.

Yearling whitetail doe. 220 yards in her bed. Bullet directly through spine behind shoulder blade. Trashed part of back strap and dorsal artery, dead in 20 seconds.

Two year old whitetail buck. 215 first shot to high shoulder. Buck fell directly over and appeared to die after about 2 minutes. Walked up and he picked his head up. 45 second shot directly through neck. Immediately incapacitated.

Yearling doe my dad killed. 100 yards. Bullet entered behind shoulder and came out mid body. Doe dead after a 80 yard sprint with 0 blood trail. Got lucky finding her.

3.5 year old bull elk. 55 yard first shot, absolute horrible flinch job due to attempting to double up. Bullet entered in front of hind quarter and passed through about same spot. Bull laid down after a minute. 45 yard second shot directly through the heart. Bull dead in 30 seconds.

4.5-5.5 year old mule deer buck. 380 yard first shot. Misjudged holdover and hit buck directly through spine mid body. Buck had use of front legs but not backs. 25 yard second shot directly through both lungs. Buck dead in 2 minutes.

There’s one buck I can’t show because I didn’t get a picture without a buddy. He shot a 2.5 year old mule deer buck at 80 yards. Through both shoulder blades, buck immediately down but took another bullet to the heart to finish after too long watching him thinking he was going to die.
Button buck. 60-80 yards. Off hand shot, bullet went directly through both shoulder blades and whether it was fragments from the bullet or the bone, lungs and heart were trashed.
