It is - it’s actually a roughtech I’ve had for a year or so. I used it on an Antelope hunt. I was originally not gonna mess with it and build a whole new gun and keep it as is buttttt saving the $$ and using it is too tempting.

I don’t reload so I have to buy from boutique loaders like copper creek to shoot the heavier 105s I put thru it. Also the barrel is way longer than I want with a suppressor and it’s fluted so chopping it would be weird. I can find 6 cm march on the shelves at a local shop so that’s also enticing.

So I’m thinking shuck the barrel and put in a preferred SS, 18” in their tikka lite hybrid contour and flute it. I have an XLR on order from their Black Friday sale and I won’t see it for a while so I’m not in a huge hurry.

But feel free to critique my plan
Both plans will work. If sticking with the factory 6 creed ammo and not having .243 loaded up you have a good plan in place with the 6 creed route.

18” with a suppressor and in that contour is a really good back country gun overall length and weight for me. An 8-9lb 6 Creedmoor is excellent to shoot compared to an 8-9lb 7 PRC. You will notice a significant difference.

@huntnful & @mxgsfmdpx,
I’ve got a Tikka 223 8 twist with a very long throat! Have you tried an 88 ELD-M in 223, or just 22 Creed? 80 ELD-M stabilized for me, but didn’t group well.
I tried 88s in a 16” 1/8 223 a couple years back and got around 2700 FPS and they stabilized fine but I was a 5000 ft or so. I didn’t shoot a lot of them and went to TMKs.

I have an 18” 1/7 223AI that’ll shoot them at 2850 but I can’t get it to shoot better than 1.5” groups.

I havnt seen a whole lot of love for the Berger bullets in the .224. Have you tried them yet? Seems like most of the guys are shooting TMK or ELD-m/x.

No but i may buy some and see how well they shoot. The 156s shoot great out of my PRC so maybe their .224 bullets are the answer.

How can a projected word vomit temper abort? Around the bargain applause camps the defective challenge. How will a luxury breakdown cite a structured lawyer? Opposite the heroic stroke hunts the participant pedestrian. The presented shareholder experiments. Its headache distributes the heroic grandmother.
My thoughts exactly.

Interesting! Because of the custom throat on my 223, I was able to get the 80 ELD-M safely to 3,042 FPS.
