Congrats. USPS….

You too young to remember folks "going postal"? They made a video game about it.

No, I am not too young to remember that.

Nor am I too young to remember our local FedEx driver driving his van up into the hayfield so my dad could sign for a package (a quarter mile down a gravel driveway and half a mile through hayfields). But neither of those things have happened in a very long time.

Have any of you tried using the post in a foreign country? Our system is clearly not the model of efficiency, but it is relatively one of the most effective in the world. And in a country our size, that’s remarkable.

And, until people decided to attack it for political reasons (to try to cut down on absentee ballots) and other people started looking at how they can scrap it and sell the profitable parts to their cronies, it was actually very good.

You're never gonna mail a letter again? Get something shipped to you? That's a bold hill to die on.
I haven't paid a dollar to USPS in years...I Fedex/UPS my tax return. They don't charge extra for tracking.
I usually won't buy from a vendor who uses USPS...I really wish companies would admitwhen they use USPS for the "last mile" because I wouldn't buy from them either.

I bought a rifle from a guy once. He sent it USPS. It was in a metal vanguard case, had $1000 worth of insurance on it to boot. They backed over it with a car. Could see the tire marks on the case even. Cracked the stock and wrecked the scope. Spent 2 months submitting and appealing the insurance claim. They told me they needed the gun for the claim I said “no fckn way” since it had a 4473 in my name. Gave them the stock, case and scope. They never did pay. Went back in to get the remaining stuff from them and they had lost it. Now I have a barreled action that cost me way way too much time and money. If you ever do send something USPS, don’t bother with insurance. There is a zero percent chance they’ll pay you. If you do finally get them to pay, you’ll have way more time and effort into it then it’s worth.

Nope I will never mail a letter again. Why would
I when they are just going to lose it. If I absolutely must send a check somewhere , I send it FedEx or ups overnight. My line in the sand has already been drawn and I’m not crossing it…. My attorney sent my Moms original will after her death to me through the postal service with tracking/signature required and almost 4 years later I am still
Waiting on it….. now if I order something online through Amazon and they happen to send it through USPS , that’s out of my control. But if I have any other option, even if it cost more, I’m not using them. I promise it’s a hill I’m willing to die on . Lol

At least they seem to know where it’s at. That’s an accomplishment for USPS given my experience.

I spent 37.00 on an overnight check that took 34 days one time.

In my area, Fedex fits the description most of yall are giving. A couple weeks ago, Fedex delivered a package of mine to the wrong address. I tried every available method I could find to get in touch with Fedex and was never able to actually get in touch with someone. Ended up having the company I ordered from file a claim. It showed up the next day with a new mail sticker from USPS so it looks like they rescued it for me somehow. UPS is generally very reliable around here as well.
