Compression sack for a tent / tipi... Bad or not?

Hey everyone!

I'm wondering if some of you use a compression sack for your tent/tipi? Is it a bad idea? I would like to get your opinions!

for long term storage or to put it in your pack?

Either way I can’t see how it would hurt it, not like you’re compressing down or anything. I always kept mine in the stuff sacks the tents came with and never had a problem.

if you want reduced volume for packing then have at it. I store nothing in a compressed state thou because it is a bad habit imo.

I found that some people say it creates more friction and the fabric could deteriorate over time. But I'm not sure how serious it is...

Sure you can, as mentioned I wouldn't store anything long term.
I actually keep my down bags loose in a large tote. And hang up my sleeping pads in closet
