Complete Tikka magazines - Orange, flush, extended COAL, etc. (Now a product)

I was able to re-create it at my house. 50% of the time with the 3rd round with 4rds loaded and if the mag is inserted with the bolt closed. I don't think its isolated to when the bolt is closed and mag inserted but ill update later.

Can you get this to happen in both or just the one? What bullet and cartridge length is that? If both then I want to see if I can replicate the issue, if just one mag maybe that one had a flaw.

It happens with both mags.
Ive had it happen with the following:
Frontier 68gr factory
COAL 2.224"
S&b 55gr factory
COAL 2.222"

@West2East I went through some V1 mags and if I jammed down the back of the rounds by hand I could eventually get some to hang up, lightly sanding the back of the follower (I had some 600grit sitting on my bench) made it so I couldn't get it to hang up anymore. That said email me and I'll just swap you out for some V2.

If anyone else has an issue just let me know and I'll get you taken care of.

If the sand paper trick will work, I'll give it a try. I'm fairly handy and figured that would be the trick. Any trick to getting the followers out?

Push down the rear so the front pops free then pull it forward till the rear of the follower has cleared the feed lips. When reassembling flex the rear of the follower under the feed lips so it slips back in place, push down the rear to tuck in the front again, push down the nose of the follower once so the spring bottom slides back and seats itself.

Just to clarify. This issue was with the V1 mags?

I was able to get it to hang up in some, I believe a combo of a little surface roughness and length of the follower in relation to the body, sanding a tad helped both. In grabbing half dozen random V2 I have completed I couldn't get any to catch like that.

Any issues with the longer COAL 223 mags feeding factory 2.26 ammo?

Does the extra room provide a possibility for feeding issues? Thanks

No issues I am aware of other than the same malfunction you can purposely cause in a factory mag also. With 2rds left in the magazine if you run the bolt snail slow you can at times get rounds to lift out out alignment and jam. This happens in factory mags also, try it out and see for yourself. But that speed of running the bolt is exaggeratedly slow and any reasonable cycling of the action does not elicit the issue in these or factory mags. So for all practical purposes no I am not aware of any issues with short ammo, I've ran 2.21" dummy rounds through these no issues (other than the caveat above).
