Just in case anyone was curious how these two boots compare.
What is the same:
What is the same:
- stiffness, both are stiff...I cannot flex the toe more than a couple of degrees with my hands
- sole, both have vibram soles with good grip
- insole, both have cheap flimsy insoles
- Lacing System, the Lowa is way better...the Asolo does not have "hooks" on the top portion, only eyes that have to be laced through meaning you cannot easily unlace the top which makes putting the boot on or taking it off a bit more work; it is also harder then to get your ankle/heel locked in with this system.
- Full Rubber Rand, the Asolo is better on this one...its a bit higher and is tapered at the top so it should be less likely to catch on something and peel away
- Fit, the Asolo toe box is narrower but doesn't feel like it's a lot narrower.
- Height, obviously the Asolo is not as high....it is probably more comparable to the Tibet (not hi)
