Compact rangefinding binos

I use GPO 10x40.

Ranges past 2000yards
How far can you consistently range an animal in bad conditions? (Snow or spitting rain, fog, etc). Specs I looked at quickly on the x32’s on the cameraland site above claimed only 660 yards on animal, so in poor conditions will be much less. Regardless of whether I shoot that far, Id want to range animals to well past 660 yards—usually can range a nearby tree or rock, but just wondering whats realistic for those. Do the x40’s have a longer max range than the x32’s?

I had no issue ranging pronghorns first week in Sept out to 1000 yards in cold heavy misting/drizzling rain. It was miserable weather with gusting winds

I haven’t used the 32mm.

I’m comparing the sig 6k and the GPO 8x40 based on similar pricing and form factor. I’ve had good experience with sig lasers, glass is okay.

Anybody with experience with both?

Ive ranged deer at 930 yards with my GPO rangeguides 8x40s. I was on a tripod. I got these for $800 NIB. Feels like a slight upgrade optically from my BX4 10x42s, in a smaller package. Plus adds ranging. I prefer the 8s for hand holding and would prefer to save dollars for big alpha glass.

The GPOs were on sale a little while ago for like $700 or something. Hopefully that happens again and I’ll grab a pair. Any comparison between the 32mm and 40mm versions?

Another vote for GPO 8x40. Bought from Cameraland (thanks Doug!) several months ago and extremely happy with them.
If I had the $ laying around, I'd own a pair of Leica 8x32s, but the GPOs are excellent. Almost doesn't make sense how much smaller they are that 10x42 Leica Trinovids that they replace..

I picked up the GPO and used them all season. Worked great for the use and were nice and compact.
Happy with the 8x in a RF Bino?

I’m in a weird spot. Both the wife and I carry Razor HD 10x42 on the chest. It seems silly to have 2x of the same Bino at home. I’d like to replace one pair with a RF Bino. Price of the 8x is appealing just never spent enough time behind a RF Bino to know if 10x is worth the coin.

Maybe I can help. Initially I liked them quite a bit (8X GPO). After a season of use, they went down the road. The more I used them, the worse the glass got. The rangefinder was great, but the glass is lacking. FWIW everyone’s eyes are different, and I am not a glass “snob” by any means.

Should also mentioned I hate the Razor HD glass, and would still reach for them over these. Your best bet is to try them out side by side, but if I could do it all over again? I would’ve spent the extra coin somewhere else.

Thanks that is partially my concern too wasn’t sure on GPO glass and haven’t seen these in person.

I picked up the Sig 6k (?) HD they were the smaller x32 objective and I returned them almost immediately. They were serviceable and would have worked fine for gun games but we’re not what I wanted for hunting glass. I’m not really a glass snob either but I have grown fond of the Razor HD at a minimum for glass quality. Was hoping the GPO would get me close, though I know not exact.
