Colorado Unit 7 - Rawahs on Fire

It's blowing up today too. They also expanded the mandatory evacuation orders. It looks like a volcano is exploding.

By far the worst I've seen the smoke down here in Erie. Ash falling like flurries today.

In Denver / Thornton seeing my dad. Heading to unit 12 tomorrow. Ash raining down in Denver now.

Any updates on where it’s out vs still burning? I ended up having to turn in my tag to work the next two weekends.

The fire activity has been minimal given last week's snow. However, the snow is melting off and available fuels are continuing to dry out. As temps continue to warm up, areas that are smoldering will start to become active again. High winds, if we get them, will set things off. So while it's not really "burning" anywhere right now, it may be by the end of the week. The only place it's officially considered contained is on the western flank near Cameron Peak.
