Question about how the secondary draw works. I know the youth get preference which is great but how do they run the draw? Do they go through each persons 1st choice and fill the tags and then go to everyone’s 2nd choice? Or if they draw your name do they go through all of your choices? Is it even worth putting in 2nd,3rd or 4th choices? This is my first time entering the secondary draw

They go through everyone's first choices first (kids have preference). It is not like NM where they go through your full application before moving on. 2nd choices onward MIGHT be worth while but you need to really look at the draw statistics to know. The probably aren't but it its a low demand tag they certainly could be.

You can look through past years draw statistics as well. Browse through them and you will see your more then likely just gonna blow application fees
Bingo. I look because I have 2 youth hunters and have a chance at capitalizing on some of the offerings, that said its still not a slam dunk for better options by any means.

Well the unit I’m putting in for is for an outfitter I got ahold of after I didn’t draw my unit I normally draw.

They will run the kids draw Then run the general first choice which will have about 10 tags left It's a money grab from adults It's amazing for the kids I wouldn't even apply my kid in the first draw I'd wait for this draw

First time looking into the secondary draw here. I already drew a crap deer tag in the first draw. Am I able to apply for a tag in the secondary draw as well? Obviously if I drew I would need to return my first tag.

You have to turn in the one you drew first to get a secondary or left over tag.

329 tags in unit 15 (valid in 15, 27)
305 tags in unit 21 (valid in 21, 22, 30, 31, 32)
275 tags in unit 25 (valid in 25, 26, 34, 231)
155 tags in unit 28 (valid in 28, 37, 371)

Your right, there probably is some good hunting out of all those. My brain was stuck in the past before archery went limited
