I’m right there with you, it’s really sad.My youngest has 1.5 years left of high school and after that I will be leaving this lost state for good. It will be a sad day, my family moved into this valley 125 years ago….
Why are you even pretending that logic and common sense are going to be deciding factors?I use suppressors so I can take my daughters hunting/ shooting and not have them worry about hearing loss like I developed at about 27 years old, we need to hammer the point about hearing safety and protecting our children!
Wtf… I presume this is due to “ghost guns” needing a barrel? If you want to get more pissed. Good luck trying to re-barrel your rifle.
Yep I saw that yesterday… totally insaneWtf… I presume this is due to “ghost guns” needing a barrel?
Yep. SB26-004 passed committee last night. Expansion of red flag law further eroding away our right to due process and protections against illegal search and seizure. Burden of proof is on the gun owner to prove that are not a danger before firearms can be returned. Complete reversal of our legal traditions “innocent until proven guilty”.Yep I saw that yesterday… totally insane
The pure disgust, contempt, and condescension with which Colorado Dem legislators treat gun owners is appalling. Never seen anything like it.
No way that passes constitutionality in a non biased court. Unfortunately it will probably pass and then spend the next 15 years in court.Yep. SB26-004 passed committee last night. Good luck enforcing that. How do they know where a barrel came from when they have no serial number. And Colorado Dems just introduced SB26-043 which will eliminate private transfer of firearm barrels. Any purchase or transfer of a firearm barrel will require an FFL transfer. I don’t know what the point of this would other than attempting to squeeze out the fun industry and create a more robust registry and surveillance state.
I assume any new barrel sale coming into CO would have to be serialized for the FFL transfer. It will probably get a lot of retailers to stop shipping to CO, which is most likely the intent of the bill. It doesn't make much sense to me otherwise. I don't see what this does for gun safety either, other than further burdening/restricting gun owners.Good luck enforcing that. How do they know where a barrel came from when they have no serial number.
100%. Ability to enforce laws has never stopped CO Dems from passing laws over the past 6-7 years. The point is to eliminate the sale and transfer of barrels. Move the needle that much closer to disarmament.I assume any new barrel sale coming into CO would have to be serialized for the FFL transfer. Retailers will stop shipping to Colorado. Some retailers will not ship to my state with crazy laws even if the item is legal. They dont want the hassle.Good luck enforcing that. How do they know where a barrel came from when they have no serial number.
The process is the punishment. This is a stab at limiting anyone who has or prints lowers from buying an upper and getting it shipped to their home… but heck now a new tube for my tikka would have to go through an FFL it is wild it’s a metal tube with some threading. And Colorado Dems just introduced SB26-043 which will eliminate private transfer of firearm barrels. I believe you are correct, it’s a punishment to prevent barrels from being shipped. Problem is, it’s basically unenforceable. They are trying to control a part that has no method of tracking currently and no tracking method in any other state. Sort of like when they banned magazines in 2013. Any undated magazine was now still legal.I assume any new barrel sale coming into CO would have to be serialized for the FFL transfer. That is the point of ALL these CO tiny hoop laws, just keep stacking up the difficulties of being a legal gun owner and hopefully trip up folks who still try into violating laws and discourage gun ownershipThis will simply make it harder for people who follow the laws to do so.
