Just as the title says. I’m debating searching for a guide in CO that pretty familiar with traditional bowhunters.
Has anyone on here used one or have knowledge of an outfitters that’s pretty trad friendly.
Old like to go with someone that shoots our equipment and really understands the limitations we have with it.
Appreciate any and all suggestions.

Never been to Colorado or with an Elk Guide. But Fred Eichler comes to mind. He has an outfitting business i know, and shot trad for Easton and Hoyt.

While I appreciate your desire to obtain a guide you describe, I have found it hard to find those kinds of guides and it certainly limits your options for where and what you hunt. It's important to know the where and what you are hunting before talking about a guide. After sorting through all the outfits that LIKE to take bow hunters, not just those who will take bow hunters, you have narrowed things down to slim numbers. Putting all your criteria about trad guides to that small number will be limiting. I have found the most important thing in a guide is one who really listens to you and takes your needs and limitations to heart. That is a quality that makes a great guide, which is what you want. You may get lucky finding your "trad guide", but if he isn't doing the above, I don't think he would be such a good fit anyway. In other words, a hardheaded "trad guide" isn't going to be good! I think you need to be VERY up front with whoever you are talking to about your expectations and get their agreement. Even then there will be elements to workout during the hunt. And, I'll add, you need to be able to tell when you need to listen to the guide.
