You need to look at your preference points total. If you used all of your points this year it will say 2013 0 points, if you didn't draw your first choice it will say 2013 and # of points, if you drew your fist choice on 0 points it will list the last year your preference points were something other than 0 and 0 for points. Hope I didn't confuse you, bottom line is if it is showing 0 points for elk you drew your first choice.

The 'Backdoor' is not open yet.
Until last year, it was the only way to check 'codes' to see if you drew a tag.
Then the DOW changed the format a bit, so when the draw takes place, any Pref Points applicable to your 1st Choice were affected.
The current Pref Point Status IS NOT the 'Backdoor' method.

The 'Backdoor' method requires you to go thru the application process to see what APPS you have on file.
'400s' numbers are not good, 500s mean you drew SOMETHING... 2nd -4th Choice.

Then when ALL results are posted within a week or so, you will see what you drew.

I hope this is helpful

Correct - the 480 code means your app is on file
You want to see the 592 code - or something like that for a successful draw in 2nd-4th

There seems to be some lag as to when some people get their results and when others get theirs.
Im not sure why tho

I just checked and I'm listed as having 1 pref. point now. So, that means my group did not draw this year...

I show a 480 app on file, but all my points went to 0. I assume I drew, they just haven't updated the tag yet. I only had a first choice or point option.

Looking at current points has never been wrong for me or anybody I know. The year can be off if you have drawn a few years in a row it will show the last time you had a change in points.

So let's say you had a point in 2009, then drew a tag (first choice) in 2010 and then also drew in 2011 and 2012 (first choice). Your points will still say 0 points and the year 2010. If you applied this year and it's still saying 2010 then you drew again for 2013.

Now if it's showing a year other than 2013 and point # above zero next to it then something is off or the app was done incorrectly.

I might be wrong on this, this is just my experience.
