Whenever I have a tag I swear they become invisible, if I don’t it guarantees multiple sub 50 yard encounters

I primarily rifle hunt and frankly have ran into few bears but that is because its later in the fall and/or I'm not looking in areas of bears specifically. Definitely a the early stage of the learning curve on finding / hunting them.

I’d say in a dry year like this focus on the drainages where there will be good water and mast and berries, seems that’s where I’ve found them most often, which usually are the worst for rifle hunting cause they are so thick sometimes they will have a decent vantage point though
