I used the Kuiu Kenai hat this year and was really happy with it. Definitely too warm for me when I was moving, but awesome when I was stationary. Blocked the wind and kept my head warm.
I have the Alpacas of Montana hat and love it!. Mine did stop the wind and it was almost too warm. I was wearing it in temps of zero to the upper 20's and if on the move I Had to take it off or my head began to sweat.
