Looking for a great cold weather hunting hat that covers the ears when the temps start really dipping.

Been eyeing up these (2) hats. Anybody have any experience with theses hats or can you recommend another hat.

ThanksIMG_0253.pngIMG_0252.png

I got a rabbit fur trapper style hat off Amazon. I can’t vouch for how terribly the rabbits were treated but it’s super warm and relatively inexpensive and light

I went with a stormy Kromer rancher and wasn’t disappointed. Made in USA too.

Great info. Keep them coming.

Thank you!!!!

Wildbill,

Gonna take your tip on the alpaca hat. Scratched off my list

I used the Kuiu Kenai hat this year and was really happy with it. Definitely too warm for me when I was moving, but awesome when I was stationary. Blocked the wind and kept my head warm.

I have the Alpacas of Montana hat and love it!. Mine did stop the wind and it was almost too warm. I was wearing it in temps of zero to the upper 20's and if on the move I Had to take it off or my head began to sweat.thumbnail_IMG_2761.jpg

I’ve been really happy with this one

I dislike earflaps due to muffling sound and like the brim of a ballcap, my solution
Keeps my neck and face warm without the tightness of a balaclava, allows normal hearing and if you buy the overhelmet size allows wearing cap underneath without movement restriction.

Thank you for all the great tips and insight in my extreme hat quest. Ordered this hat today. Hope it works out.IMG_0257.png

One of my friends has this hat and loves it. I tried it but I prefer the Sitka Blizzard, although the Kuiu protects the cheeks and sides of the face better. Another friend tried both and preferred the Kuiu. I think you’ll love it.
