Cold Bow 2026 QnA Thread

Well I finished up and hit just outside the hole again so I went 1/3. Both steel hits were just out of the hole so if I’d done the usual pie plate I would have had 3 kill shots. Both arrows were damaged (one more than the other 😂) but I shot the same Tooth of the arrow 125 grain single bevel for all 3 shots. In a good arrow, that broadhead still spins good after hitting the steel twice.
I have a 30” DL and my bow is about 72 lbs shooting 285 fps with 535-ish grain arrows so there’s a lot of juice going into that BH when it hit the steel.
I’m pretty impressed with these heads.

That is impressive those heads handled that.

@lak2004
thanks for coming out, but you need to copy/paste/fill out table in the rules and edit into your post. Table makes it easier for the mods to qualify you, and for the statistics person.

@MrsHunter welcome to Cold Bow, your pic didn't upload. Please use "edit" button and try again.

@BRTreedogs glad to see you here and you couldn't get much closer to center punch than that! post #79

Reading through the posts, I see lots of archers mentioning how much the day's emotion (tired, rushed, distracted) affects their shots. I agree. And is part of establishing a realistic MER becuase usually shooting at an animal is going to be very emotional.

Looks like there are about 21 slots left to fill.
I re-uploaded the day 1 (and added the day 2) picture. Is it showing up ok now?

Thanks!

How many of you guys have started bringing targets along on hunting trips more often after seeing your performance on this challenge? I never used to and would sometimes be 5+ days between flinging arrows. Seeing how performance can drop off with less practice I bring mine along now and even if it is not a long distance I try to shoot every day or two if I can
always did/have - partially to practice, but also as a way to BS and chew the fat at lunch.
Day or weekend trips by myself its 50-50, but being a trad shooter I always have a field point and will shoot stumps, dirt clods, or whatever while I'm out. Trad bows usually don't bust arrows doing this. Those shots are great at mimicking hunting shots, slow hunting days will sometimes turn into my own little woods walk shoot.
I also usually take a field point shot at something before getting down from the stand in the morning.
