Oops hahahah. There go 50$. Hope not.Day two and I made some noise. I hit steel but I might still be able to shoot the same arrow/BH. Gonna spin it when I get home. Looks like I might just be down a nock.

Cool video !Have had a hunch that my current arrow flight isn't ideal, so I tried to record my 2nd CBC shot. Angle isn't great, and 240fps footage is still too slow for this, but pretty much confirmed my suspicions. Built a new set of arrows right before the challenge and am itching to start that tuning process.
It has a very slight wobble in the arrow I shot. It looks fine in a different arrow. Upon further inspection, the outside edges of the carbon are crumbled a bit so that’s probably why it wobbles.Would love to hear if that broadhead spins true after slamming into steel like that!
Finally got out to shoot, I shoot my bow so little these days with small kids that I had a hard time remembering what the specs were if everything. I sure don't geek out on it like I used to! But I brought my oldest son, he's almost 6 and I shot then he took some shots. It was a good night!

Agreed. Me and some friends started an archery club because our area just doesn't have much for facilities. Main goals are a space for people to shoot and to get kids into it. High hopes we can get a permanent range!Anymore I struggle to remember a lot of specs I use to know.
I spend a fair amount of time working with a few organizations, most based around getting kids interested (NASP the most well known)
Love seeing getting the kids into it.
Are you using a crawl to stretch out?Well… missing an extra day with the trad bow is hell on precision shooting. I dropped out the bottom on arrow three/aimed poorly. All that said, I wasn’t near my best shooting coming into this challenge. I feel very confident that with a few weeks run of my usual practice this new tune will be money, and 35 is definitely a mer I can maintain if I’m not limiting myself to one shot a day.
Nope. My point on is (was?) 40 yards. I've changed my anchor slightly this spring so the point on is 36-37ish. I got to second guessing that this morning and shot the old gap. I need to decide if I'm going to fix my anchor or shoot the new gaps and commit to it.Are you using a crawl to stretch out?
@Billy Goat I noticed you were using a fixed head. It's that more experimental or have you switched to using them more. I know you used to be a big mechanical guy for a variety of reasons.
Guilty as charged. Tried getting a shot in quick after sundown last night as winds started to calm just slightly. Also told my wife I would be inside to help with something and that rushed me. That led to lack of focus and punched trigger. But that is real life and shows you must be disciplinedReading through the posts, I see lots of archers mentioning how much the day's emotion (tired, rushed, distracted) affects their shots. I agree. And is part of establishing a realistic MER becuase usually shooting at an animal is going to be very emotional.
Looks like there are about 21 slots left to fill.
Fixed. Didn't copy correctly from my cell phone. Thanks for the heads up Robby!@lak2004
thanks for coming out, but you need to copy/paste/fill out table in the rules and edit into your post. Table makes it easier for the mods to qualify you, and for the statistics person.
@MrsHunter welcome to Cold Bow, your pic didn't upload. Please use "edit" button and try again.
@BRTreedogs glad to see you here and you couldn't get much closer to center punch than that! post #79

oh ya!
Day 3 shots
this is why we started testing cold bow style 10 years ago. Had to admit I'd walk away from any range session with my best group in memory, not my first arrow.Me! After I missed last night especially. I wanted a redo and to shoot a couple groups just to reassure myself I can shoot better than my performance
