Cold Bow 2026 QnA Thread

I don’t make fun of the man in the arena.

I couldn’t tell which target you were aiming at with the compound?
Both shots were at the block target, my miss was right, hard to tell if it was good elevation but id like to think it was since I have nothing else going for me on that one lol. Idk if you can see the dew get smoked in the grass because of transfer quality in videos but at 57 sec if you keep replaying it you might be able to make out the mist the arrow sends. Its on the right side.

Hey Robby - The yellow sticker is 3” in diameter. If I don’t focus on a small spot I hit all the over the place.
@Dennis

Am I reading your post right? tiny vital for those yardages. Are you a squirrel hunter?

@Meshnasty I can’t tell what is your 8 inch vital unless that sticker is 8 inches across and that target is like a 5 ft.² block lol. Please clarify.

Yes, understood, we all do that but in order for our statistics to be right at the end of the challenge, we need to see your vital. Looking at your target I don’t see anything but a sticker to aim at. Am I missing this 8 inch vital that you described?

I am colorblind you know lol

Went 3/3 squeaking that second shot in by a hair! Put the phone skope to use on that last shot for a little more fun. Believe I won it last year in CBC so it’s only appropriate!

ETA: that little dog was NOT supposed to be in my backyard! Just noticed it after watching the video

Well was able to finally get a hit. Went 1/3. Which I think is wat I did last year. Wat a fun challenge and shows me I'm not great under pressure. Thanks to the sponsors and @robby denning for putting this on. Post #24

Nailed it! Thanks for making the video, and keeping it short

And I checked, you won the @Phone_Skope in last year’s cold bow.

Thanks for coming out, Okie

Good thing you don’t have to hit to be entered. Fingers crossed I win something to offset the cost of an arrow, broadhead and shed door.

That's not a bad group.

I am surprised where that arrow broke, you are probably lucky it didn't snap on the shot. I thought fmj's would have held up to that better.

Did you spin the arrow? Like before you started?

I was surprised as well and thought the same thing about probably being lucky I am not in the emergency room right now.

Nope, didn’t spin it. Not sure what happened. I should have measured to see how much broke off. I am not sure where it ended up.

I have never been a dead eye with a bow but I can’t say I have ever shot this bad. Hanging the bow up for a bit and start over with field points.

I didn't have positive experience with FMJ's. They were lighter spine, I was playing with heavy arrow and lighter DW, but those damn things took a bend easily for me. They were 400's. But you might have just had a bent arrow. It really doesn't take much with a fixed head.

I will probably switch back to some Eastons I was shooting before going back to FMJs.

Day two and I made some noise. I hit steel but I might still be able to shoot the same arrow/BH. Gonna spin it when I get home. Looks like I might just be down a nock.

Have had a hunch that my current arrow flight isn't ideal, so I tried to record my 2nd CBC shot. Angle isn't great, and 240fps footage is still too slow for this, but pretty much confirmed my suspicions. Built a new set of arrows right before the challenge and am itching to start that tuning process.
