My oldest daughter finally had enough points to draw her elk tag, and then she went and graduated college and got a job out of state. Now she's got several more years to get enough points for the same tag. SMH

Doesnt anyone read the Regs anymore?
I was sitting here reading this, thinking to myself, I must be on the "I Hunt Colorado" Facebook page.
Ya you can thank the parks side of it for bleeding wildlife dry, it sucks but I’m still thankful for the out of staters they support our wildlife!

This is a common misconception. By statute, hunting dollars stay in the wildlife divisions coffers, and park funding is maintained by parks revenue.

If you aren't interested in clicking the link, he highlight are:

TOTAL CPW REVENUE 2021 = $329 Million
Parks Revenue = $124 Million
Wildlife Revenue = $196 Million

TOTAL EXPENSES= $237 Million
Parks Expenses= $86 Million
Wildlife Expenses= $144 Million

Additionally 2.5% of the total expenses are categorized as shared expenses.

You can look at it as it cost $106 to buy one preference point. . . As my buddy did for awhile. Or you look at it like I do, once you buy the license and stamp it's only $10 per species for points on elk, deer, antelope, and bears! So you might as well help accelerate point creep and buy points for everything! It's really a cost averaging approach! I'm not sure where I'm gonna use my 4 bear preference points, but let me tell you, when I want that bear tag I'm gonna have it! 😂
