CO fur ban

Voting has consequences!

The more I hear that and the more I learn of outside forces are influencing policy and politics, the more I realize it has less to do with politics and more to do with people needing to make a shit ton of noise. The loudest people are getting the microphone and when we blast the truth from the microphone it makes the other side of the aisle have to bend the knee so they can save face.

I live in loudoun county, VA . We have had LOTS of out of state money get dumped into our polical races in order to flip us to be blue. There are a lot of conservatives in Loudoun but somehow we were turned blue. It then happened at a state level. The amount of money being dumped into initiatives to turn us in CA are astounding. Straight up lying on all policies. So yes elections have consequences. We all need to start getting active and just as loud as the crazy libtards

I agree but in this instance, the amount of hunters who are against trapping is stifling.

I get chirped at for posting trapping pictures pretty frequently.

Not exactly on topic but….a great friend of mine of a few decades is an uber lefty.
He wanted to elk hunt with me, and we were successful.
While packing out his cow, we saw a moose.
He said, with bloody quarters on his back, how could you shoot a moose.

To be fair, it's hard to stay united and organized when we have to go to work.....
You’re not wrong. It is a real challenge with volunteer organizations. Many of the anti folks are paid activists or retired.

That being said the sportsmen and women at the Mar 4 commission meeting outnumbered the opposition somewhere around 400 to 40 according to some of the news articles. We really showed up, we were just ignored by the commission. The cake was baked. Polis has been building the commission for this moment over the past 5-6 years.

Right now we need to push as hard as possible against commission appointments. Maybe force an appointee to withdrawal. Generate as much controversy as possible. That is where the battle is now. I heard the commission appointment hearings begin in the Senate Agriculture and Natural Resources committee next week.

Makes sense to me!

Will I go to the Fed Pen if I say we need to water the tree of freedom? If so I won't say that at all. Be Well Brothers, The Bearded Gnome.

I really do think that the decisions are made outside the commissioners - that they just do what they are told. Here in FL it is a purchased position, not some "I like him" appointment but a purchased position.

One of the commissioners down here used to support something I was doing and I went to church with a relative of his - she was always delivering messages. He was a nice guy who supported hunting & fishing.

So if you can only use live traps now, does this ban really affect anything? or is it more of a politcal thing?

I have only used the live traps to get rid of skunks or racoons at the house.

I don’t know the details because they haven’t finalized it yet I think they have another meeting in May where things get finalized. I’m hoping maybe something changes. But if it’s illegal to sell fur that affects things. I predator hunt and have trapped bobcat in the past. I used to trap bobcat and sell the fur. I often will keep coyotes and get them tanned and sell them. Some of them are so pretty. It’s hard to waste them. But I guess if it goes thru than that’s what they want.
