Welcome to the big game non-resident scam. Most states are doing it. Just bend over and take it if you are non-resident. Been taking it for decades.............

A tank of fuel costs more. Probably costs more to take the family to Chili's for dinner than it does for a year long hunting license.
It's not really a year long (365 days) but rather an annual license as in once a year.

Everyone should be buying the turkey license and coming to Colorado to kill thier birds, there's plenty for everyone and they are just ol' stupid Merriams(one step closer to that slam). Another bonus is you could be scouting for your next big game tag. Win Win

One can hunt small game year round.

I don't hunt turkey, but I have wondered why those from turkey focused states east of here don't take advantage of the resource here. There are often days we can't get away from those things.

Pretty much all states are doing this. And as @sndmn11 said - it's a small investment to buy a point. Points are becoming invaluable. Ever get a point in Arizona? It was north of $200 for one preference point.

That small game or turkey license that the overwhelming majority of applicants will never use was added a few years ago in addition to the habitat stamp and app fee. I think it was ~$107 all in for a NR last year to apply for a single species. I also apply for deer and pronghorn, which is just the additional app fee of ~$10.

Of course a NR Annual Fishing license doesn’t qualify. God forbid they don’t let you buy something I might actually use.
That's because they include the fishing license with your successful big game license...that they don't mail to you till the middle of June! So if you fish before that, you either have to pay for a license or fish without one. Pisses me off.

if you're doing AZ properly it should be costing $190 every two years for a single species, not >200 per year.

Can't you select the print at kiosk option?
