Cleaning kydex sheath

In trying out kydex as a sheath and got it full of fat this year. I'm assuming that simmering in water will be the best option for cleaning out the fat and tissue inside. Can anyone confirm or offer a better solution?

I used the dishwasher after mine got dirty.
My dishwasher didn't get hot enough to damage the fit but cleaned it nice.

Boiling water will soften kydex in pretty short order so I would avoid that. Your dishwasher might not get that hot as suggested before, or you could try a combination of bottle brushes and high-pressure water...a Waterpik would probably work great if you happen to have one.

Soak it in warm water with dish soap and rinse with warm water. Get it much past 120 degrees and it will start to deform. A car in direct sunlight on a hot day will deform holsters.

Or buy a cheap one for $15-$30 on Amazon and use it as a mini pressure washer for all sorts of unsanitary things
