Ok, hopefully I am not annoying you with all the questions but I've never had a brake on a rifle. You plug the top holes to tune? Or vary the amount of porting? Or ???

Not at all Steve, that's the reason we created this site.

I don't know this as fact but I do believe the top ports are for tuning and to plug if you are shooting PRS it tight spots. but that's only a guess on my part.

If it was me I would go 300 Whinny:)

I bought a new Ridgeline off a Rok Slide member here a couple months ago. 300 winny. I have not picked out a scope yet, plus I need to get my dies from my uncle to test some loads.

Justin talks about break in shooting with them. I have always been taught shoot once then clean until no powder on patches. Do this for ten shots, how does everyone else break theirs in?

Plus what type of rings for a 20 rail?

Just broke in my barrel. Clean after each shot for first 10. I then cleaned every 5 shots over the next 40. I did this over 3 evenings. Final grouping after break in was .611. 26 Nosler, 129 gr Nosler Trophy Grade ABLR.

Ryan have you tried it with ports plugged? How does it affect performance?

My hates RS a little more each day. Now you guys got me wanting a new rifle.

Justin,

How do you like the stock on the ridgeline, do you find it it give you adequate head position? It seems a raised comb might be better but I have never shot one and was curious about that. Thanks.

The stock is nice, but just like Pyroducksx3 said, it is better with some type of pad, adjustable cheek piece, or stock pack to help with eye alignment.

HAHA, I should of been more clear. The scope has to be really high. Are you using anything to raise the comb height for a consistent cheek weld?
