Christensen Arms Ridgeline Scout 6mm ARC issue

Hi y'all. I just purchased a CA Ridgeline Scout in 6mm ARC from Euro Optic. I was testing the action when I got it home and I'm having extraction and ejection issues. Running Hornady 108 and 103, as well as some dummy rounds, 2 of 10 extracted and ejected appropriately. After that, it now just drops the cartridge on top of the magazine, if it even extracts it from the chamber. I tried all 6 of my magazines and even different boxes of Hornady ammo which have different Lot numbers, but I get the same results.

I read on here about extractor and ejector issues with some Christensen Arms rifles so I sent them an email on their website, but I am questioning if I received the correct bolt with my rifle. The bolt face measures .474 inches which seems to be a bit large for a 6mm ARC. I have a picture attached which has me holding a Hornady 108 cartridge on the bolt face.

Is this the correct bolt, and my issues is the extractor or ejector? Or do you think they sent a standard (.308/6.5 CM) bolt with the rifle accidentally?

Uhh, that looks too big to me. 6 ARC should be .445.
Okay thanks for the reply. This is my first bolt action rifle that isn't a 30-06 or .308, so I wasn't sure if CA used a standard bolt for their 6mm ARC or if they use one specific to the caliber. I did send that picture and a couple others including the one below to them so I will see what they would like me to do. I was hoping to sight it in our back and get some shooting in before Thanksgiving weekend so I could possibly hunt with it here in northern Wisconsin, but I don't think that will be possible if I have to mail them the rifle.

Thank you again for replying so quickly.

Hard to snap a pic but this shows how a 6 ARC fits my Howa mini bolt.

Oh wow, that is what I was expecting I guess because my 30-06 and my .308 look just like that. Thank you for taking the time to send that picture. I saved up for a while to get this rifle and I guess the excitement of having it before deer season got deflated pretty quick when I couldn't cycle a round reliably. I haven't shot it yet but did mount my scope, so I might have to take it off if they ask me to mail them the rifle. Or do you think is it possible that they can just send me a new bolt when I send this one back to them?

The rifle is chambered in 6 ARC, correct? You weren’t sent a 6 CM mistakenly?
Yes it is 6 ARC. Well I guess I should say the markings on the outside of the barrel say 6mm ARC 1-7.5 and inside the chamber there is rough looking engraving on the outer ring of the barrel throat(?) that says "6ARC" at 12 o'clock and "75" at 3 o'clock.

I hand loaded a 6mm ARC round in the barrel with the bolt out and it seems to fit snug, but I'm not sure how else to check.

Yeah, wrong bolt face dimension. Impressive work CA..

The throat of a chamber is the portion in front of the case mouth through where the chamber machining ends and it's just normal bore land and grooves.

I just talked with CA and they need me to send the entire rifle to them because the serial number on the bolt matches the rifle serial number. It sounds like it could be a couple of months before I get it back, based on the email.

And thank you for that education! I don't fully understand all the terminology, but try to learn as I read several of these forums.

They serialize bolts? Never heard of that. 2 months to get a bolt for the right sized case head would be unacceptable to me.

The bolt has the last 4 digits of the rifles serial number, engraved on it. He asked for that and it matches, but it clearly looks too big for the 6mm ARC.

Wow, that’s a crazy long wait.

I would call Eurooptic to see if they can help in anyway. They may exchange you for another rifle and they can deal with the warranty on the original.

Worth a call.

That is a great idea! I will call them today. I ordered it from them over the phone and still have the name of the guy who helped me place the order. Thank you for the suggestion.

yes, other than issues with having different serial #'s for background checks (i'm not familiar with the legalities in relation to this), I'd be pushing for them to replace the whole thing if they are acting like getting a proper bolt takes 2 months.

I just called Euro Optic and they were more than happy to do an exchange for no cost. However they said it's based on if they have that rifle in stock still. He is checking but online it shows it is out of stock....
