I find it strange to see Peax & Argali coming out with the same exact designs as Kifaru and Seek outside. I’ve been following the game for years now and guys like Brian call, lampers and even Brad from argali used to all run seek outside shelters. I even bought Brad’s knife off of seek outsides website years ago. Now they are just re-creating the same exact shelters and getting them sent from China. What an interesting world we live in!

No one is really reinventing a Teepee style tent. I haven't seen Kifaru have those style tents in years, im assuming there permanently discontinued.

Argali at least has some different style floorless options, again comparing to Kifaru at a much more reasonable price.

I understand the first statement. What about SO? Argali 4p & 6p is identical to seek outsides... And hard to compare pricing when one is being made overseas.

Only so many ways to make a tipi/pyramid shelter. Nemo, GoLite, BPWD, Viam outdoors....they all look alike with the exception of materials, small changes in guyout placement and accessories like floors and liners

Argali 4p is $85 cheaper using silpoly compared to SO's silnylon. Everyone has their personal preference on tent material and will argue it until they're blue in the face.

And overseas doesn't immediately mean cheap or low quality. The stitching and quality of my Absaroka is every bit as good as my Seek Outside Guardian was. I've had them side by side and couldn't tell a difference.

I'll gladly support American made products over imported products if I believe the product is better. But if someone's importing a product with better materials than what is being manufacturered here, I'm going with the better material over manufacurer location every time.

I hear you on that. Everyone has different experiences with fabrics for sure. I think more of what I am getting at, is the fact that all those influencers listed used to praise SO & then they go out and mimic the same design and concepts, while getting everything made overseas. Makes me question their morals & integrity, that’s all. Up to you if you don’t want to support American made businesses or not.

Peax whole business model is selling Chinese copies of popular items at higher prices and paying influencers to use it so it looks legit.

Expecting anything else from them is just irresponsible at this point.

Argali doesn’t pay anyone to use their stuff at least.
Agreed, it’s pretty obvious seeing what Peax has done. Argali is definitely better in that regard.

lol what?
please explain?

OP: Brad (Argali) has explained in the past why he gets his products from Vietnam. I can't find the exact post but it has to do with the lack of sewing manufacturing currently in the US. I think Seek does all their manufacturing in house. I am not saying I wouldn't prefer them to be USA made like Seek or Final Rise does but I also get it as someone who is very familiar with the Cut and sew manufacturing process.

The headlamp is a $30 Chinese product with custom firmware. Originally (and still) available under the “Sofirn” brand.
Okay I could see that, if it’s true. But that’s one product. I wouldn’t say that’s their “whole business model” as you said. Do I think that’s right if it’s true, no. But dude, it’s one product out of a bunch. You can’t say any of the rest of their products are Chinese knockoffs, I just don’t think it’s justified.
