This rings true recently. I grew up in the 70s and my mom loved Jim Croce and Harry Chapin. Operator and Mr Bojangles are burned into my head.
She also loved nursery songs. We recently had a daughter and i downloaded a nursery album and I just laugh to myself that I’m like my mom in that way singing “itsy bitsy spider” (there by the grace of god go I……..)

It was a common thing on Sunday afternoons to have all of us kids surround him while he strummed the Gibson, all singing together.
