I wouldnt conceal carry in the backcountry, however I do carry a 44. I run a Smith 69 in a Gunfighters Inc Kenai chest rig. Love it! In urban environments I carry a Gen 4 19 with the grip chop modification in a Crossbreed.

I like how the Kenai can ride under the binos. Yes after a long day it gets heavy but carrying a gun isn't supposed to be comfortable, it's comforting;-)

I like the HPG Recon kit bag. I like it because it is comfortable. It holds extra stuff like my rangefinder. I can attach a knife or magazines if I desire. However, if I were in bear country and really concerned about bears and I didn't have a rifle or shotgun in my hands I would want my pistol more quickly accessible like on my hip or on my chest.

Anyone else carry a chest pack, not a holster, that they use to carry a concealed handgun in while in the backcountry or hiking or trail running? Looking for something other than the Kifaru Koala or Koala Lite or the Hill People Gear series of Kit bags.
