Cheap powder charge tubes

I decided I didn’t feel like paying $20+ for a pack of the black horn charge tubes. I looked on Amazon and found a 20 pack of 10ml centrifuge tubes were the same size as the BH tubes. They were $7 and had a screw on lid which is liquid tight. I’ll run some athletic tape and write my powder charges on there so I can swap it, you get the point.

I will be using these for my load dev in my knight ultralite and will be using various charges so having 20 will be nice. Midway have .50 BMG ammo cases that should hopefully hold the tubes secure and water tight.

Sounds similar to what I’ve been using for years. I mostly use the 5 ml tubes.

The MTM shotshell box works well.

You can also find them via ebay;
these have a beveled front end that one can include the projectile with your loose powder.
Works for me. Several Sizes & Cap Colors if you need to be to different powder charge amounts distinction while at the range.

I wasn’t sure if the 5ml would be enough, it’s been a minute since I’ve used preloaded tubes. But I like how much smaller those are and that shotshell box is a damn good idea!! Thanks!

How much 777 powder fits in a 5 mL tube? Is it one tube for bullet and primer, and the second for powder? Thanks
The 5ml will hold 120 grV if you tap it to settle the powder. But it’s right to the rim. A 7 ml would be perfect but I’ve never found one.

Yeah, the little “speed loaders” I put together are powder in one side and bullet/wad/209 in the other.

Nothing special about Lanes tubes, IME. (But I don’t shoot pellets so I never put bullet and powder in one tube.) Just 5 and 10 ml centrifuge tubes like all the rest, BUT, I do really like his Bh209 kit:
