Maybe only one or two.

Biggest question is are they adjustable for bag size? I tend to make a lot of jerky/snack sticks out of game meat and like to make small packages with 3-4oz of meat. Can I use different sized bags? A smaller bag for snacks and a bigger bag for family sized portions?
.
Any other advice, recommendations or thoughts are appreciated.

Shopping the Vevor or Meat! Brands at the moment and trying to stay at the lower end of the price range. Maybe 400ish max

The maximum bag size depends on the size of the chamber vac. You can use smaller bags though. I run a couple different sizes in mine. I picked up a Vevor based on numerous good reviews and have had it for a few years with no issues yet.

As long as it fits on the sealing bar and isn’t bigger than the chamber and you can use a lot of different sizes of bags. Some chambers allow you to remove some of the chamber trays to allow for a bigger bag. I have two commercial size vac sealers. One seals one bag at a time and the other seals about 8 at time or 16 in two cycles depending on the size of the bag.

Take a look at JVR. After a lot if research this is what I am down to. Their customer service seems great. I believe they are located in Buffalo. Give them a call and ask questions.

I will probably have difficulty convincing management to allocate that kind of funding for this particular project. If I can free that kind of funding, I would probably buy a Vacmaster as they seem to be the most highly regarded within that price range.

The C-suite here at the homefront is already kind of balking at the 400 price tag so I have work to do to convince her that the tool is worth the investment, let alone putting a grand down.

Thank you. This is helpful to understand

Keep an eye on FB market place. I got my Vevor for $200cdn. They continue to pop up every now and then.

I think my second choice would be one of the Vevor models. Just make sure you buy one with an oil pump. The dry versions are super loud and junk imo.

The bigger the chamber the more air to remove each cycle. So either buy one that fits your needs or buy/make some filler plates to displace air.

Id take the JVR over the vacmaster after the research ive done. The JVR is a much more serviceable unit with easy to find parts. They seem like the kind of units that will last 20 years as long as you change the oil pump out every year.

Ive only got about 4 months on mine and we love it. My wife especially likes being able to do mason jars in it.

At $400 id spend the extra to buy once cry once for a JVR. Just my unsolicited .02

This is the same conclusion that I came to.

Which model JVR did you buy?

I've had our Vevor unit for several years and it has done hundreds and hundreds of critters so far. Everything from fish fillets to entire water buffalos and bison.

You can use any bag you want as long as it's not longer than the sealing bar.

Def save a buck and find one cheap if you can.

I own plenty of foreign made stuff (grinders by MEAT, etc) but if you gotta buy a chamber vac new...these things do seem to blow up over time, moreso than grinders.

All of which is to say, if you don't find a cheap one, it's JVR for the win, every single component is replaceable and sold separately and will be shipped to you from NY state.

Otherwise they basically all do the same thing as long as you're comparing the oil pump ones etc.
