I've been getting a bunch of questions on Lathrop and Sons and their new Cevedale Tech Hunter boot, so I figured I better get a video going how this boot came to be.

I was solo when I did this and freezing, but it will get the point across and give you guys some answers as well.

Feel free to ask away with questions, but I do have another video coming shortly with more of an up close view of the boot and a in depth description.

Aron, thanks for taking the time to put the video together, great looking boot that just might be the do all I'm looking for.

Seeing as how I know how fat your foot is, probably not wide enough for you.

I'll call Lathrop/Lowa tomorrow and see what I can find out.

I gotta call you anyway...
Aron, are there any plans to offer this model in a wide fit in the future?

Very nice looking boot and I love how Lowa's are constructed, fit and finish, and attention to detail. I just couldn't lock my heel in them. I wonder if the heel cup is similar to the Baffin Pro (boot I tried), or Tibet (basically the same boot but with GTX)? With the ankle flex you mention, it may not be as critical but I'd still be concerned. Will be interested to learn more about them.

Wish REI had these in my size. I don't imagine there is too much of a difference...

I'm usually an 11.5, but I need 12's... Booo:( Seems to be the norm to need a half size bigger in Lowa

Try Sierra Trading Post. The had all sizes a few months ago and might still have some 12's if you don't mind strange colors. I snagged a pair awhile back for 160 something with a coupon. Exact same boot, I talked to Lowa a few days ago.

How does the fit compare to the Hanwag Mtn Lts? How about to the Lowa Tibets? The Tibets are super comfortable with heavy loads but they do seem to have a bit too much volume in the forefoot for me.
Thanks

Little more than a Mountain Light and less than a Tibet.

Whenever I'd dry the ML, the toe box would be REALLY tight, but fit good when they stretched back out.

The fibers fit correctly when dried like this.

Hope that makes some sense.

Wonder how crazy the lime & black will look :)

Got mine yesterday. The lime is very subtle. Not noticable at all. These fit me quite a bit better than my Mountain Lites. To me, there is more room in the forefoot over the Mountain Lites and they are run a tad larger than the Tibets. I echo Aron's results on the Mountain Lites. Tight going on but would stretch to my foot during the hunt. BUT, I still got numb big toes from the ML's.

I am a big fan of the new Lowa Bighorn and think I am really going to like these. I searched long and hard for a boot to replace my Lowa Sheephunters and I think these two (Bighorns and Cevedales) are going to fit the bill perfectly. This after at least 20 pairs of mountain boots..
