I think all the exercise is good for the health and fitness but I always prefer cardio exercise for the fitness. I believe that cardio exercise help full in burning calories which is effective for weight loss and weight management. 30 min of the cardio exercise can burn more than 400 calories.
 
That also depends upon the exercise that you are doing. I hate the thought of just doing cardio, and I think Crossfit solved all of the personal problems that I have with cardio. But that's just me. I would love to be able to run forever, climb steep mountains with a heavy pack on for miles and miles, but for me, I have to work at it.
