Cant wait for thunder!

Well another season and no tag notched.

Went out last weekend with my cousin. Nobody was playing our game.

We did have some excitement on Sunday though.

The land is split by a 55mph road. We hunted one side but then decided to hit the other side where there had been birds on camera. Walking up the farm track about 50ft from the road we see a car go by from right to left, it dropped a tire off our side of the road, we saw sparks where it bottomed out, then disappeared from sight because of brush then we hear a boom followed by 2 loud hits. I knew what happened immediately and feared the worst. We put our guns down and ran. the car was upside down in the road, having hit a culvert, gone airborne, then hit 2 large pine trees head on. Where the car stopped was just below a high spot in the road and in the oncoming lane where anyone coming might not be able to stop in time so I yelled back to my cousin to help whoever was in the car while I run ahead to stop traffic. Luckily it was still pretty early on Sunday so there wasnt alot.

my cousin got to the car as the driver was trying to kick the window out. My cousin was able to get the door open far enough for him to get out. He was the only one in the car. He had fallen asleep. not wearing a seatbelt. He had a knot on his forehead and his jaw was swelling a bit, but otherwise pretty unscathed.

Young Marine on leave, had just been visiting his brother, also a Marine, heading back to his parent's before catching a flight back to base later that day.

When the trooper showed up, he talked to us. We told him what we saw. He said well you guys are good, go hunt.

When I heard the hits, I knew he had hit one of those trees and really thought someone was going to be dead. Im so thankful we were there and extremely thankful he wasnt seriously hurt.
