Canon 80D

I own a 6d and a 5d, and previously a 500d. However I have shot a fair bit with my sister-in-law's 80d. Great focus options, nice to be able to fold the screen away. Nice and crisp. Should mate up to a spotting scope well enough with the right T-adapter.

It handles shooting weddings really well, which are almost as demanding as a hunt.
Unsure on weather or dust durability, which would be the other consideration.
For general shooting it will be excellent.
Let me know if you have some specifics and I can find out more for you.

As a camera, it's excellent. Easy to use, great images, tons of lens options, great AF. Can be used for any type of photography and you will be happy
Only downside for hunting situation is lack of weatherproofing, more for dust then rain. None of the EF-S lenses are either. Camera is on the larger, heavy side vs the new mirrorless options out today

I have one and love it. It is my main camera - I upgraded from a T6i last fall. I currently run the Sigma 17-50mm lens on it for 95% of the photos and videos I take (they are about 1/2 price on B&H, and a great upgrade over the kit 18-55 lens). I really like the autofocus, and second what Camera Land said. My hunting partner has had his about 3 years now, and bought his with the 18-135 STM kit lens. We share a borrowed 70-200 f/2.8L lens. Good results all around. It is a little on the beefy side, but I prefer that feel.

I bought the 80d mostly for filming. The touch screen focus and focus tracking works pretty well and as long as you keep the iso reasonable (under the 3000 mark) the camera shoots clean with little to no noticeable noise. I can say it’s proven to be more rugged than two 5d mkii bodies (anyone need parts, lemme know lol)

I think when paired with a good lens, the 80d is one hell of a good camera. I’m still using mine this season because with an L 28-105 or 70-200 2.8 it will take great pics as well as video. It is also lighter than some other bodies I own.
