In a couple days I'll be headed out for my first hunt with a suppressor. Can I just slap a piece of tape over the end like I would on a regular muzzle?

I put electrical tape on the endcap of all of my cans when I go out into the field.

Electrical tape. With a tag to pull it off for longer shots.

I know it dosnt change poi much at all but I still pull it for longer shots.

Have you measured any difference at all in POI taped verses bare muzzle? I have shot a lot of rounds, from a lot of different rifles and have seen no variation between the two.

I use a small strip of gorilla brand, water proof tape meant for patching vinyl pools and liners. Truly waterproof and never loses its "stickiness".

Thank you for the suggestion, does it leave a nasty adhesive residue? Electrical tape was pretty painless to get off my parkerized barrel.

Yes nasty adhesive residue, but I don't care it works and actually keeps water out. Plus all my barrels are stainless and it comes off fine.

Roger that, thx, and if it stays on all day it'd be worth it. Electrical tape lost its stick in the snow/sleet rain after repeated "re-sticking" last fall.

I have, it didn’t matter but it’s in my head and that’s all it takes.
Not doubting you, but what were the parameters?

I would like to see how to induce a shift by tape on the muzzle. When I say tested a lot, I mean A LOT. 50 to 100 shot group sizes overlaid onto each other with quite a few different rifles. When including 20-30 shot groups it’s in the triple digits, and over Doppler radar. All the taped shots are within the standard deviation of the untaped shots.
