Not doubting you, but what were the parameters?

I would like to see how to induce a shift by tape on the muzzle. When I say tested a lot, I mean A LOT. 50 to 100 shot group sizes overlaid onto each other with quite a few different rifles. When including 20-30 shot groups it’s in the triple digits, and over dollar radar. All the taped shots are within the standard deviation of the untaped shots.
Not that in depth. Just a few shots. I believe you, it’s just a mental thing for me now.

I needed to check zero with a couple of lot# changes, so thought I would check tape and no tape as well.

First the T3 308:

10 rounds no tape-

10 round with tape over the muzzle brake for each shot. Tape was 3 layers thick-

Nothing changed. And it was heavily taped like this-

Next was the check for the Tikka 223 Superlite-

10 no tape-

10 with tape-

The rifle isn’t overly fond of this lot.

And then this rifle, each one of these groups has a taped, “cold bore” shot-

None of the taped shots are the worst shots in the group.
