Ha!! I don’t know Avery at all, so it’d be inappropriate for me to make any comments about his “Fuzzy-Wuzzy” nickname or make any kind of comparison to an Ewok.

If I knew him, I might make several cracks along those lines.
I don't know @Ryan Avery either, but getting some really mixed signals sometimes......

Recent 6.5 convert
-Does this mean we will see a kinder, gentler Avery?
-Will he grow a mullet?
-Is he renouncing long range shooting? or embracing it? (I can't ever remember.)

Friends call him Fuzzy-Wuzzy
-Will he stand with us who appreciate a good integral base layer or will he fall in with the manscaping activists?

Has pack goats
-What will non hunters think if hunters are represented by someone who makes goats carry his camping gear?
-Does this make him anti-sheep? But then, he drives a Ram. Which is the false flag?
-Could he be controlled by the dark money behind the Backcountry Pack Goat Owners Fraternity of America? (Imagine those pint nights!)

@robby denning would probably be the best one to assure us just where he stands. Don't hate on me, just asking the hard questions........

I make decals and had fan boys coming to me for “I eat elk” and such decals like he has so I looked him up. Apparently he started by killing big bulls in the eagle caps in Oregon. It’s wilderness, I’ve killed a bull there. Any way he started filming hunts there and then they changed some rule where you can’t film hunts in wilderness so now he hunts private. So that’s why he hunts private.

Hunting the Deseret ranch, the Hill ranch, and San Carlos every year because of film permits? Why didn’t I think of that!? 😂

It’s all been said already. The dude has more grind in him than I could fathom having and is self made. Not many folks you see with the sponsor loyalty he has.

The only thing that grinds some gears is it seems like he is disingenuous with some things to keep it on brand rather than being open. There’s thousands of kids out there who think Cam kills all these big bulls because he run/lifts/shoots so hard. In reality it’s probably true that he gets the opportunities to hunt where he does because of those grinding roots but he’s not out hiking everyone up the mountain at San Carlos and he ain’t letting that on with photo ops “packing out” quarters to the utv.

Solid dude,i would bet most guys that bash him are out of shape, pay for high fence hunts so they can have some mounts to put on the wall and have no true grit in them.
On the other side I bet most guys who really go hard with there fitness, nutrition and outdoor skills have no issues.

I read his Back Country Bowhunting book and I guess "followed him a bit then". The guy has put the work in DIY and on some tough hunts for sure and is definitely dedicated (or addicted) to working out and shooting his bow etc.

I think like most in the "industry" things just get repetitive and scripted in general. Because of his past experience and even more recent hunts when he hunted with Roy (guided but not really) he most definitely is not a poser in the woods. BUT, even though I would love to hunt some of the ranches he does and I do go on guided trips...His hunting stuff is just not as interesting to me as it used to be. Which is kind of funny because I am so sick of the Public Land only mentality in the hunting community (different than hunting industry).

If the guy motivates people to get in shape and get more proficient with their equipment great. I think I dislike his die hard, Keep Hammering fan base more. In general I dislike the heroizationing of public figures in general. And the more people that do...normally the less I pay attention to the Hero at least for social media/ entertainment types.

This is pretty much how I look at all celebrities. They are just people like you and me. They made different life choices and were able to accomplish something that may have been important to me but not as high on my priority list. Based upon what I have seen him say on his various social media posts it sounds like he is selfish prioritizing hunting over his family. I may be wrong but I don't think so,

Maybe I spoke out of place.

For ME I’ve always tried to surround myself with successful people and that goes double for hunters.

Don’t know why people love to hate on this guy but I wonder how many would say that to his face.

Don't hate the guy. Indifferent. My dentist is a well respected Ironman, don't want to hunt with him either.

Don't know why I would hesitate to say so in front of the guy, I highly doubt he wants to hunt with a chubby nurse from South Dakota. 😀

Pretty certain he is at a level where hunting is his job. I know he use to work a regular job. I would think with all the sponsors it seems he has now, he might just hunt and socialize, I don't know. It becomes a matter of is he choosing work over family? Or it could possibly be that he is just a workaholic.

I learned early on that even things you enjoy become work. Chuck Adams wrote about that and why he didn't want to be filmed. He could write about the hunts later, but could enjoy them in the moment because he wasn't working. That was his way of disconnecting from work and play.

I'm a neither one way or another on the guy. He worked hard and realized his dreams I assume, good on him. Seems like a lot of self promotion as well, I can do without that but that's also just branding. Hunt legal, fair chase, I'm not going to fault someone. I'm not a fan of the celebrity hunters with the list of infractions to their name, or on parole. And there's a fair amount of them. I suspect once you get on top, it's hard to stay there.

His manscaping game is weak and I want the meme threads unlocked because I can’t find a solid answer on eating your hunting partner. Now that y’all know what my favorite threads are I can tell ya that yes, I have been drinking.
I've come across two references to eating your hunting partner in the last few hours...I must know more. Any chance of a link, or maybe even just a brief rundown? Google machine didn't turn anything up.
