Going to end up with A zone , bear tag, pig tag and points. Although I put in for spike tule, sheep and antelope, I expect to never draw those. Put in for g3 as well, but will probably burn points on an X zone in the next couple years. Can’t wait for July

Waiting for the UT and NV draws to be posted then I will adjust my CA hunts so I don't overlap. The Fundraising tags do get drawn by someone... I got one in 2017!

Wow! I’ve always joked around with my friends that the fundraiser tags don’t really exist and it’s a back door tax scam that hunters fall for. If you don’t mind me asking, what did you pull in 17’?

Put in for sheep, elk, antelope, and G8 Antlerless (freezer filler) and X9A for deer. Don’t expect to draw any of them but I’ll be buying an A-zone tag and trying to punch it. Then I can decide if I want to get a B-zone afterwards and throw on a bear tag.

I put in for an X zone with 6 points and got my D13 tag as a back up. Good luck everyone.

The AO tag is the best opportunity tag in the state in my opinion. If you’re willing to travel, you can hunt from July to November I believe.

I had The AO tag a couple years back. It was fun to hunt so early in the year and late. But honestly it was a waste of my time. So few animals in my area. To bow hunt you need practice on putting on stocks. I was getting very little of those. I’m sure AO might be worth it farther north or LA.

Did the hail mary applications for elk, pronghorn, sheep, and the Goodale hunt. I expect to end up with a pair of Bs and a bear tag though. I've been filling deer tags, but haven't bumped into a bear in a while. Maybe this is the year...

If your itching for bear meat I can put you on some in D5 rifle season. Pretty much a slam dunk black bear hunt.

Sent up a prayer in the deer draw, with first choice Goodale hunt, second choice MA3, so will most likely end up with A zone tags. Hopefully I will be able to get on Vandenburg this year, depending on the pandemic.

My son(14) put in for the Goodale hunt, Round Valley apprentice hunt, and Hunter Liggett Bull elk apprentice tag. So he will probably also end up with a couple A zone deer tags, but its not all bad he gets to hunt with his grandpa in A zone so that is always nice.

Still deciding between B or D. Leaning toward B since am looking to get a bear for the first time. Daughter is excited to possibly shoot a bear as well. Will likely put in for a jr tag somewhere for her as well.

Tons and tons of bears out in d 3-5 too so don't let that determine it.

i am bummed for my dad. he is one point below maximum points and it was really looking like a few of the cow elk tags were starting to go to non-max point holders and then they reduced the number of cow tags by quite a bit. will probably bump all those tags that were going to people with less than max points back into max point tags. thought this was going to be his year for a cow elk tag. now not so sure.

Starting to get excited for the season to be here. What did everyone put in for this year?

I received my A Zone and D3-5 Zone Tags in the mail. I also put in for elk and bighorn sheep again so I can cry once again when I don't get drawn.

Anyone else starting to get a little antsy?
Put in for G3, lassen period 1 and northeast bull, sheep. I have max pts on everything, but elk. Wait and see.

One of the volunteers in my group talked his neighbor kid in to getting his hunting license and putting in for the draws. I guess the kid had the hots for my buddy’s daughter. The kids first draw, he drew California Bighorn Sheep, So it does happen. It was the first time the kid ever pulled the trigger on a live animal.
