California Draw 2020

Starting to get excited for the season to be here. What did everyone put in for this year?

I received my A Zone and D3-5 Zone Tags in the mail. I also put in for elk and bighorn sheep again so I can cry once again when I don't get drawn.

Anyone else starting to get a little antsy?

Spike Tule, Antelope, put in for some X zone knowing Im likely going with A and B tags. Got my bear and bird stuff already.

D3-5 for me as well this year. Put in for bighorn, antelope, and elk... we all know how that's going to go...

Put in for an X zone archery tag I should draw with my points, usual D3-5 as a backup.

I know California sheep tags are few, but put in for them and buy the fundraising tags as well. We were shocked the numbers came up again this year and the tag count was increased by 1 more. My prediction is we will add 4 more sheep tags next year.

The state and Feds are finally realizing they have to manage the forests for fire, this will help the deer population tremendously.

X5a and then c for second choice and A1 for the third choice. a sheep tag an elk and an antlope donation too...

I am putting for everything and I will end up with D3-5 and D6 along with bear tag. Sitting on enough points to get some of the x zones but not ready to burn the points yet.

Put in for a good zone, should end up with d14 as my back up. Also did an AO tag this year, first time with that. Anyone have experience with them? I had to call and confirm all the zones they work on.

Regarding the AO tag;

“Valid during the archery and general seasons in the A, B and D Zones and Hunt G-10 (Archery Methods Only); NOT valid during any C or X Zone season or hunt.“

Myself I haven’t drawn any out of state tags yet and I am waiting for CO deer and WY elk results before completing my CA apps. Will most likely apply for a lottery premium deer hunt with B or D3-5 for my second choice. NE rifle elk with max points. Archery antelope with few points having drawn Lassen rifle a few years ago. Lucky to draw my OIL sheep tag in 2017 so no longer eligible. Will pick up a bear tag as well and wish they hadn’t have outlawed bobcat hunting as I would have bought one of those tags as well!

Will be hitting it hard as usual in the 110 South Unit.
On the wishlist is......Tule elk, bighorn, mule deer and a speed goat. Somebody has to draw them right? There is always ground squirrels if everything else goes to hell. Good luck everyone and hopefully your time has come.

That’s my attitude also. Somebody has to draw them. Might as well give it another go.

Waiting for the UT and NV draws to be posted then I will adjust my CA hunts so I don't overlap. The Fundraising tags do get drawn by someone... I got one in 2017!

C zone and AO tag. 1st time with AO tag, but after chasing muleys in AZ with my bow, I am hooked!!! Also, decent amount of points for elk and antelope.

All fundraising tags plus elk, antelope, sheep and should drawn an X zone with the points I have this year but I been saying that the last 2 years and point creep gets me. Most likely an A tag and D7....
