Here's the Management plan draft that was just released for California.
The population of black bear when the last management plan was released in 1998 was around 15,000 bears. Now the estimation is between 50,000-81,000. That's a heck of an increase.
I'm not sure how many of you hunt bear in CA, but if you hunt deer, you see how many bear there are. There are talks of multiple seasons and dogs being brought back. What do you all think?
