Hey guys so I know where I'm gonna hunt V zone but this year I am also going to try and hunt calaveras and alpine county and also want to try and hunt near ebbetts pass on highway 4 because my cabin is in arnold. How has the hunting up there been the last couple years? I have seen a lot of deer and deer sign right in arnold near my cabin and have also seen a bear in my cabins backyard. My dad and I want to give d zone a shot. Any hunting tips\ tactics for this area would be awesome. Any areas in particular we should try to hunt? Any tips would be much appreciated and put to good use

Any trailhead in particular i should try and hike

If your seeing game and sign by your cabin just get out away from them and sit some game trails .If not you have Cabbage patch out of Doorington or Black Springs rd has a lot of spots you can just park and hit the hills

I spend a lot of time in Dorrington(my family has a place there)I’ve never seriously got into hunting up there but I would go with what Can’t Hit Em is saying. Get to know the landownership and hunt around Arnold. Sierra Pacific property is typically open to hunting but I saw on the forest service site it was closed because of fire danger. I’ve seen some trail cam picks of big deer from around Arnold. Good luck.

I just saw a pic of a nice 4x4 buck ...probably 140's in that area a buddy sent over.

So many lions up there....state trapper caught 30 in 3 years in one canyon.....you might be better off hunting in and around civilization.
