Cabelas/Meopta Repair Options?

I recently had to send in a 1 year old pair of 15’s for repair. They were out of Collimation. Likely due to me dropping them. I recieved the same note from Katerina Gavendova that was posted above. The shipping from idaho to the overseas factory cost me about $100 because I insured them for less than $500 and sent via post office. The customs form took a bit of time to fill out.

Sending them to Czechia was annoying and expensive shipping, but they were repaired for free and returned to me in good working order for free.

It really is too bad that meopta has pulled CS out of the us due to their recent purchase by a different company but they still seem to take care of customers in my single experience.

However, I wonder what would have happened if I had sent in my 10 year old pair of 10x binos ….

For what it’s worth I still think the Meostars are probably some of the toughest optics built. I’ve crashed dirt bikes several times with them on my chest without issue. The 15’s failed because I’m an idiot and they rolled down the mountain in my camp bag lol.

Glad to hear that worked out for you apart from the shipping inconvenience. I plan on sending mine overseas for repair shortly after the holidays and will keep updating.

following up as well. I’m looking at some Meoptas, but if I have to spend $500 minimum to get them repaired, I’ll move on to something else.

I am glad I found this post. I have scratched Meopta from my list. Maybe the Vortex UHD at least I know they’re gonna take care of me if I do something dumb.

I read in another thread that meopta is opening a new facility in the US sometime this year. Hope that's true so I don't have to cross their optics off my list.

So I was trying to send my spotting scope to have the foot replaced as it is stripped and they no longer have parts for anything Cabelas branded stuff and will not repair their products according to their team. This is after them telling me that they would two different times.

My12x50 Euro HDs I bought in 2012 glass was cracked in the right eyepiece. I went to Cabelas in 2022 and they looked up the original sale price and gave me a store credit for them for them for that price towards any binoculars they had in store since they don’t carry them anymore.
