CA Lurker moving to NC

Hey everyone,

I started following this forum last year when I began looking to do some DIY bear hunting, which was new to me. I've had success with DIY pig hunting and blacktail (A zone), and was really stoked to find so many solid resources on this forum. I also do a ton of spearfishing along the California coast and Mexico. My friends nicknamed me StinkyPete because I "used to" pee in my wetsuit a lot.

Anyhow, I'll be moving to North Carolina for Grad school in the next few months, and am hoping to find other hunters out there to get familiarized with the hunting scene in that state. I'm not sure what it's like out there in terms of hunting, but I've heard that it will take some time to get used to the different hunting style because of the terrain differences.

Welcome to the site! As far as the nickname goes, I dont think theres anyway not to pee in your wetsuit when you get in the water on the California coast lol something about that cold water just makes you have to pee.

After you change, anyone can smell a pee soaked suit from about 10' away if managed properly...

What grad school are you going to? I went to UNC Charlotte for my engineering undergraduate. I have lived in NC for 24 of my 26 years. I love it here. Feel free to PM me any questions that you have and I will try to help you out.

NC has some different animals to chase around, hogs, deer, bear, ducks, geese, coyotes, etc. It will be different than CA for sure, and depending on where you go hunting in NC the how of the hunt will change too! Good luck!
