Buying new elk rifle

Might be a dumb question, but what exactly is the difference between a 35 whelen and a 35 whelen Ackley Improved?

30 to 50 ft per second, and bragging rights lol.

No animal will notice the difference but it's cool to have something different.

From a practical standpoint the sharper shoulder needs case trimming less frequently than the shoulder on a standard 35 Whelen.

I know several will do well, just a bit surprised not seeing any mention of the .338 WM. In terms of recoil, personally I prefer it to the .300 WM, but that's just me.
