I’m looking for input from anyone who’s had experience with these scopes, and any reason why I should go with one over the other for my intended purpose which is primarily a range rifle (600 yards and in and shooting for groups at 100) and the occasional varmint/predator use. The ones I’m considering have the SCR MOA reticle, which I know has been said to be thinner in the non-illuminated version (veracity). The veracity is a couple hundred $ cheaper than the 3.3-18 XTR iii and $300 cheaper than the 5.5-30. I know most of the spec differences between them, but the Veracity has the low MAD knobs which you can remedy the rev restriction by removing the pin on the underside of the turret. I’m not sure if the XTRiii the same rev limiter. Is turret tracking on the veracity pretty solid compared to the XTR? Or is it worth the extra $ to go with the XTR even though I don’t necessarily need illumination? The Credo and Tenmile Hx line are also in the back of my mind, but not sure I want to spend the extra money on the Trijicons, even though I know their reliability/ durability are dead nuts. Help me decide please. Thanks in advance for the input.

While not those exact models, I have two of the XTR II scopes (4-20 and 5-25, both FFP SCR MIL) and a Veracity 3-15 FFP with the Ballistic Plex E1 FFP reticle. I would say the glass on the Veracity is better than the 5-25 XTR 2 and as good or maybe better than the 4-20 XTR 2. I have the XTR's on some long range rifles and they've been good out to 1200 yd. The Veracity was originally on a .270 WSM and now on a .308 target/hunting rig. On the .308 I've used the Veracity to shoot out to 1k, but can only dial the knob out to about 800-ish yards and had to use the reticle holdover to get the rest of the way.

For more hunting than range, I like the Veracity. For more range than hunting, probably a toss up but would be hard for me to justify the extra $$$ to move to the XTR series if the max range is 600yd or so.
