So for many many years I’ve been hunting and killing truck loads of elk with my 7mm with the 154 Hornady Interbonds (since discontinued)the only problem is that it is a HEAVY gun sooo I built a 300 win mag . And before you ask why I changed caliber well the only thing I can think is because I’ve never owned one. So my gun specs. 25” Lilja barrel on a tikka t3 action. The first bullet I tried was the 180 gr accubonds I’ve tried RL26 and RL 22 and the best group I could get was 1” I think I should get groups then 1” so I tried the 165 accubonds with RL22 at 3200 fps ended up being money.Does anyone use these for elk

165 ABs are very popular elk bullets, though mostly shot by guys with 308s and 30–06s at slower speeds than you’re getting. At 3200 fps out a 300 win that should be a flat shooter.

I just bought a new Tikka T-3x in 300 win mag. 1/10 twist. 24" stock gun. Topped it with the new Leupold VX-6HD gen2 3-18x44 fire dot. I don't handload and am initially thinking 180 grain also. Any feedback would be appreciated.
