Got out to re zero today, the Brake is pretty impressive I would compare the recoil to maybe a 22-250 now. Also the lighter trigger spring was a great upgrade and the best bang for the buck I have put into the rifle. Here is the first two shots today, 10 clicks up, 2 left was punching the next few right through the bullseye

Are the amax you chose lead free? Doesn't CA require lead free?

No only an area in central CALIFORNIA and state wildlife areas are lead free until 2019. I have some lead free stuff stockpiled for it but don't really see myself using it in the future

I have to use lead free where I will hunt. I guess it reduces the appeal of 6.5 saum until more stuff comes out.

My girlfriend smoked her deer with a 120 ttsx from this rifle this year. I got them shooting pretty good and they shot close to the same poi as the a max out to 300

Went up to start working up a load with the 143s but found some awesome pig sign all through the shooting range so I decided to leave it be and headed to the south side of the ranch to take a swing at some steel. Hit the 650 yard target twice the wind was weird and tricky I'm still trying to figure it out. The brake blows me away being able to see the dirt splash when I missed. Either way she is shooting very good I just need more practice

Rancho Cielo alto. Grew up there. Small world. Some of those marks on the plate may be mine from long ago. That's crazy! Lots of memories on that place.

Yep stayed in the old trailer at the bottom of the hill. Killed my first buck about 50 yards below that 600 plate. Killed my first archery buck just above the 400 plate.

Damn that's insane, what a small world. I sent you a pm we have mostly hunted it for pigs. I've actually never hunted over on the side towards the steel targets but there was a velvet fork horn over there today when I was shooting

Haven’t updated this for a while but the rifle has been doing great unchanged. I settled on a load of imr 7977 and 130 jlks which have been an amazing combo. After lots of hunting I finally got a longer range kill last night at 505 yards this old boar dropped like a sack of potatoes. I’ll toss in some other pics of kills with the rifle also. As of now I am still shooting the 50-75 necked down Norma brass that I started the rifle with but they finally are showing their age and I plan on getting a new load with some of the newer Hornady brass by newyear. I will also be trying out RL26 and very much hoping I can get a good shooting load out of the 143 eldx it would be nice to have an affordable and easy to find bullet for this rifle

Tapatalk is freezing up on me every time I try to upload pictures, so far this rifle as killed 4 pigs, 2 mule deer, one bull elk, 5 blacktail. Closest kill was a bedded blacktail at 25 yards. The furthest anything ran was the elk which was maybe 40 yards everything else fell in their tracks

130 jlk made it through the spine and forward through the ribs, shoulder and was stuck just under the hide on the far side from a quartering away downhill shot
