Budget backpacking tent

I second the Sierra Design Flashlight 2. It’s a full tent especially if you are on the larger / taller side. Hard to beat for under 4 lbs. Personally not a fan of floor-less to save weight unless you need a stove. You can find them on sale for under $200

I am sold on the Durston X-Mid but as I am waiting for the new models I found the Naturehike Mongar Ul 1P on sale at Anazon for $74 bucks. Granted it's a "used-very good" return but I figured for that price it's worth setting up in the yard to find out. It's a pretty impressive and lightweight tent for $150 new, especially how the vestibule opens up to an awning. Good call, thanks!
Yes, the Gen 2 with the vestibule is a nice feature! If I didn't enjoy the space in the 2P tent, I would definitely pick up the 1P tent as well

I use a Alps Lynx 2 that now costs around 150 on Amazon. I've had it 3 or 4 years with no issue. Probably have set up/tore down at least 30 times. But at 5 3/4 lbs it barely can be considered light.

I used a Lanshan 2 for about 5 seasons before upgrading the a Durston Xmid2 (my Lanshan got chewed on my squirrels). Probably had 100+ nights in the Lanshan and it was great. It’s a trekking pole tent so lighter weight as well if you’re already bringing poles.
How did it do in rainy conditions? Also if you're going out for the day and need the trekking poles is there a good system?
